Winter Park’s New Council Members Sworn In

At the April 21 Winter Park town council meeting, four council member seats were filled. Newly elected Town Councilor Robert Wright will serve a two-year term, while incumbents Nick Kutrumbos, Rebecca Kaufman, and Michael Periolat will serve four-year terms. The council appointed Nick Kutrumbos as mayor and Jennifer Hughes as mayor pro tem for the next two years.

Mayor Kutrumbos emphasized the council’s commitment to community development and sustainability. “We aim to enhance our town’s infrastructure and promote sustainable growth,” he stated.

In line with these goals, the council approved a solar energy system for the public works facility, set to be installed in spring 2026. This initiative reflects Winter Park’s dedication to renewable energy and reducing its carbon footprint.

Additionally, the town has renewed its contract with Transdev to operate The Lift, Winter Park’s free public transportation system. The agreement includes plans to add two electric buses to the fleet, furthering the town’s commitment to sustainable transit solutions.

These developments highlight Winter Park’s proactive approach to community enhancement and environmental responsibility.
